Building connections is a key element of the CEO program. The goal is for students to develop a network not only within the community but also among themselves. This week placed significant emphasis on this initiative.

The team took a break from their work day to engage in a classic show-and-tell activity, which resulted in a morning filled with laughs.

After a brief update on the progress of Lake Sara Forever, presented by Tom Ryan, they were divided into groups and tasked with creating corrugated boats. They then competed to see which boat could float the longest.

Kay Spruell and Shelby Dasenbrock guided the students through the history and day to day operations of Burkland’s Florist & Gifts over the course of two mornings. While half of the group visited Burkland’s, the other half prepped for upcoming mentor presentation days.

The week concluded with a regional networking event, featuring six CEO programs, where students had the opportunity to share their experiences in the CEO program so far.
