Another short week, yet a productive one. After two days of careful consideration, the students have officially reached a decision regarding their class business. More details to come!
In the midst of their decision-making, the class had the opportunity to tour two businesses in Effingham County. Kent and Nathan Wiedman guided the students through each step of the dry cleaning process. While Wiedman Cleaners is a familiar name in many households, most people are unaware that each article of clothing is handled at least ten times throughout the process. The students always find this tour enjoyable, as they have very limited prior knowledge about the industry.
The class also headed to Dieterich to visit Old Mac’s. After eating a delicious breakfast, they listened to insights from owner Aaron Stortzum and general manager Joe Moore. They shared the inspiration behind the creation of this unique business and how it has evolved since its inception.
