My Featured Journal Entries
"On Friday we met at Roy Schmidt Honda with Kyle Packer. Kyle is a very adventurous man who has cerebral palsy. He has not let his disability get in the way of his dreams, though. Throughout the class, he shared with us some of his favorite trips he has taken and the moments of danger he has encountered. One of his favorite quotes that he shared with us was “If you never try, how will you ever know?” This speaks to me because there have been many times that I give up on an idea of mine. I’ll never know how it could have gone because I never gave it a chance. Kyle even wrote a book calledStare if You Dare. He also is featured in a movie calledAn Uphill Climbfilmed my Craig Lindvahl. Kyle is a speaker that must be invited back next year. His message and stories will continue to inspire the many CEO students to come."

"From learning about an insurance company to touring Effingham’s largest employer, this week was just as interesting as the rest. Each week I title my journals with what week we are on. I usually sit here for a minute and think about everything we have done and all the people we have met since August. It’s amazing we are approaching April and the last month of CEO. I have met some amazing people and also developed many relationships with my classmates. Overall, I have gained a huge appreciation for Effingham County and where it is going in the future."

"Now the Experience has come and gone, we have been making a lot more business visits lately. I personally enjoy and mixture of business visits and class days to discuss those business visits. Some days my classmates may see something or point out something interesting about a business visit that I didn’t catch. As the weeks fly by, we are also starting to get deeper into the planning of our personal businesses."

"Seems like just yesterday was the first day of class. Now 17 weeks in, I can confidently look back and see how much I’ve grown. There are several class days I can recall that have helped me tremendously. I’ve learned multiple life lessons and met some amazing people. This is only half of the class. The journey will continue next semester…"

" Wow! What an amazing week… After this week finished, I felt changed as a person. I was able to interact with so many different people this week. I pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone and it felt good."10/25/2016
